Abstract

The aim of this essay is to analyse how the Italian right interpreted and responded to the pro-cess of democratic transition in Spain during the period from 1975 to 1986. The focus is on the analysis carried out by the Italian Social Movement (Msi), the only openly right-wing party, regarding the Spanish political evolution. This analysis is based on a review of the party’s offi-cial newspaper, «Il Secolo d’Italia», and a significant magazine from the same ideological sphere, the weekly «Il Borghese», edited by Mario Tedeschi.
