Abstract

The crisis of the British Empire appeared on the international scene already in the aftermath of the Second World War. The historiography on the subject places a strong emphasis on how London had progressively lost importance to its Us ally, while in this essay an attempt will be made to analyse the imperial crisis through diplomatic-military sources in order to reconstruct the impressions of the Italian military leadership at the time.
