Aims and scope

«Annali della Fondazione Ugo Spirito e Renzo De Felice. Il Presente storico» is a scientific journal that follows in the tradition of the previous «Annali della Fondazione Ugo Spirito», founded by De Felice, under the direction of Gaetano Rasi, and first published in 1989.

The journal features scientific studies mainly related to the 19th and 20th centuries and maintains a multidisciplinary approach, open to the renewal of historiographical approaches and the most relevant national and international trends in content and methodology. Therefore, with this new phase, the journal clarifies its characterisation in the world of contemporary historiography, becoming a scientific instrument that remains an expression of the Ugo Spirito and Renzo De Felice Foundation but focusing more on historical reflection than on its activity. The ambition remains that of becoming a training ground for young scholars and, in this capacity, of influencing the historiographical debate.

The journal, scientific for all the sectors belonging to the Italian National University Council (CUN) Areas 11 and 14 and published four-monthly in open access, adopts the double-blind peer review system for the evaluation of contributions received. «Annali della Fondazione Ugo Spirito e Renzo De Felice. Il Presente Storico» accepts essays in Italian and in the most important cultural languages of the European Union (English, French, Spanish, German), and does not require financial contributions for publication
